As Spring approaches, and our weddings and special event calender begins to fill up, I find myself  filled with the anticipation of seeing our Brides’ weddings and our special events come to fruition…

What I love the most about event and floral design, is working with my clients’ basic style and ideas and then help them create a cohesive “story” to tell on their special day. The events I help create, can be as elaborate or as simple as my client’s style and budget allow. From the Bridal Bouquet to the napkin detail, and everything in between, the flowers should enhance all the special areas at an event and express that story in more detail…

2010 is going to be an exciting year for Wildflowers….

We have officially joined the Hansen’s Group of Flower Shops and will represent the Special Events and Wedding portion of the business. We are excited and proud to join this fabulous group of designers and floral professionals so we can continue to serve you with the quality of flowers and beautiful designs you expect from Wildflowers.

For those of you who don’t know Hansen’s; It is a full service flower shop that has been family owned, since 1920! Yes! 1920! With 90 years of experience, it  just gets better and stronger every year. For the last 10 years, Hansen’s was voted BEST OF FAIRFIELD county… No surprise that they have on staff, 10 of  the most talented and passionate floral designers in the area. They always have a huge selection of premium and unique flowers, foliages and plants. In addition to daily deliveries to Fairfield County and New Haven County, Hansen’s will be delivering to Litchfield County on Thursdays and holidays and of course, there is no boundary of where we will go for a wedding or special event!

New England in the Fall is nothing short of breathtaking. I’m convinced it’s the reason why we live here…all us New Englanders. It’s the hope we hold onto as we endure the endless winters and suffer through the humid summers. In the back of our minds we know- Fall is heaven on Earth, and it will be here soon!   As I look out into the landscape and see a myriad of color: red, gold, orange and chartreuse….I’m filled with inspiration. Inspired by the divine beauty nature creates, year after year- despite what is going on in the world, these beautiful colors surface almost like God’s  promise that everything is going to be ok…So what a better time of year to make the ultimate commitment to the one you love?  As my heart fills with this divine epiphany, my mind fills with inspiration and I get to work……

Last weekend, I did the flowers for Amanda Congdon’s wedding. They were great and her photographer did a great job. You can check out the flowers and the wedding at his website, Amanda’s weddding pictures.

We wanted to create a sweet, romantic setting for the ceremony. Because of the weather, we had to do everything under a tent, which changed the mood a little, but these two were undeniably perfect together! So nobody even noticed the weather…

I loved the way these colors worked together. The flowers added the perfect pop of color needed against the Navy dresses. I loved the organic design against the clean contemporary dresses. This was Winvian’s first wedding and I am honored to have been given the opportunity to design it, we had a blast!
